When Ke$ha hit worldwide radio stations with Tik Tok no one
could possibly imagine she would end up having four top five
singles (My Love Is Your Drug, Blah Blah Blah, Take It Off and We R
Who We R). In fact, she had the perfect profile of a one-hit
wonder, but her adult-baitng teen electro pop proved us wrong. And
just like Miss. GaGa did with her debut album, Ke$ha has
re-released Animal with nine new tracks, We R Who We R being the
lead single.
Now, did she ever imagine she would get this far while singing the
backing vocals for Paris Hilton years before releasing her own
music? Yes. As Mr. Cowell would say, Ke$ha may be like Marmite, you
can either love her or hate her, but one thing is obvious, her
determination.
This Dr. Luke produced track is a killer. What else would you
expect from the man behind California Gurls, Tik Tok or Dynamite?
He knows exactly what a number one single entails right now.
Although the track is not particularly different from her previous
work, it's still a strong dance pop number with an inspiring
message. It's the same formula of her first singles - maybe not the
inspiring message - but if that works for her, why give it a twist?
It's quite difficult to stand out ever since GaGa hit the music
panorama.
Again, this track means strong beats, more auto-tune and her
annoyingly addictive voice. That, my dear readers, is Ke$ha's
identity. Is she another product of this lately over-stuffed pop
panorama? Yes. But is she one of the best in her league?
Definitely. You may need to give We R Who We R a couple of listens
to completely get into it, but believe me, this is one of Ke$ha's
best songs, if not her best.
